The Pearson Trust

The Pearson Trust is a small local charity which was established in 1882 to help people in need in the parishes of Aldwark, Alne, Flawith, Tholthorpe, Tollerton and Youlton. The charity makes small grants to residents of these villages who are on low incomes and are struggling to meet their everyday living costs or who have a particular need. This might include help to pay for essential household items or repairs, healthcare, or clothing and equipment for a new baby or children and young people who are in education or training.
The charity also makes grants to local organisations for charitable activities which benefit people living in these villages.

Applications can be made at any time using the appropriate application form which can be downloaded by clicking here (for individuals) or here (for organisations). Please send completed application forms to:

The Pearson Trust Helps Kyle Valley Scout Group

The trustees of The Pearson Trust have awarded a grant of £1,500 towards the building of a new scout hut in Tholthorpe costing over £176,000.
The trustees of the charity made the grant because the old Scout Hut, which is no longer fit for purpose, had benefited young people throughout the charity’s area of benefit for many years and they wanted to ensure that this good work would continue. Their grant will allow the group to start work on building their new hut - a carefully designed log cabin – which although designed primarily for the scout group will be available for booking by other organisations.
