To celebrate the new Millenium the Parish Council decided to form a Village Millenium Committee to organise fundraising events so that the turn of the century could be celebrated and hopefully leave something tangible and constructive for future generations in the village. They called on representatives from all the organisations within the village and held the first meeting on 7th March 1996. 

The Committee worked extremely hard and successfully raised funding which paid for

Millenium Mugs - a momento given to every family who came to the party.
Tables and Chairs for the village hall
Childrens play equipment for the playfield 
A Street Party in the summer 2000
